FAQ

What is behavioral health?

Behavioral health is a term that encompasses the prevention and treatment of both mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders.

Are there any updates regarding mobile crisis services?

The coalition is in the planning phase of restarting mobile crisis services (CRU or Crisis Response Unit) as staffing models, funding sources, and sustainability discussions continue with stakeholder input.

What is the Yellowstone County Behavioral Health Coalition and who funds it?

The YCBHC provides insights and recommendations for Yellowstone County’s behavioral health continuum while monitoring system performance through data sharing and accountability and facilitating system improvement and problem solving. Currently, work is funded by the Crisis Diversion Grant through the Montana state DPHHS. DPHHS funds similar coalitions throughout the state, all of which are working to develop local approaches to providing behavioral health crisis services aligned with the Crisis Now model – someone to call, someone to respond and somewhere to go.
