Medical interests: Family medicine, wilderness medicine, integrative medicine, osteopathic medicine, functional medicine.
Outside interests: Spending time with my wife and children. I enjoy most any outdoor activity, especially soccer, mountain biking, climbing, water and snow sports. I also like watching movies, martial arts and reading.
Life before medical school: Before and throughout medical school I was heavily involved with volunteer work, helping children domestically and internationally. I pursued a career in the family business and a degree in international business. I worked as a personal trainer for several years, and was certified as an EMT, CNA, and phlebotomist. I lived in Chile for three years where I met my wife and we were married. We moved back to the United States and have since added two beautiful children to our family.
Favorite music: Little bit of everything – country, rock, etc.
Favorite movies: Good Will Hunting, Patch Adams, Chasing Mavericks, Vikings (TV shows) and Marvel comics movies.
Why I chose MFMR: While on rotation I fell in love with the area and program for several reasons, including the broad spectrum of opportunity for training, the Wilderness Medicine Track, the amazing faculty and staff, current residents who all seem to truly enjoy it. I feel that my family will love to live here and have access to so many different outdoor activities and life experiences in this beautiful area.
