Life before medicine: As a first generation Cuban-American I was raised in a home that held great gratitude for the opportunity and freedoms offered by this great nation. From age 14, I found purpose in service, mentorship and missions through my church and local charities. Helping others with my own two hands changed my life, taught me many important skills and perspectives and led me to understand who I was and what I wanted to do with my life.
Favorite music: Music that makes you sing, feel and reflect. Guilty pleasures: John Mayer, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Thrice, Copeland, Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Alec Benjamin

Why I chose MFMR: Since my youth, I have found healing and peace in Montana. Doing a sub-internship at MFMR as a medical student, learned about their innovative approaches to addressing the different health disparities in Montana. The physicians and staff members were kind and welcoming, coming from different walks of life, carrying different perspectives, yet all offering their skills as a collaborative force for good. It was truly inspiring. They were my first choice.
