What is Blue Poo?
Blue Poo is a campaign started through RiverStone Health as an initiative to improve Colorectal Cancer screening rates and thus improving the overall health of our community. Why blue? Blue signifies awareness and prevention of Colorectal Cancer. The blue toilet paper provided in your kit is a colorful reminder for you to complete your screening.
If you are 50 or older, getting colorectal cancer screening could save your life. Colorectal cancer occurs most often in people aged 50 and older and is the second leading cause of cancer related deaths in the United States. The risk increases with age. Both men and women can get colorectal cancer and there are sometimes no early symptoms.
What’s the cost?
A combination of private and public grants support the Blue Poo campaign and the colorectal cancer screening kits available at RiverStone Health Clinic. This FIT Kit is easy to use, return, and is no cost to you!
Regular screening is the key to preventing colorectal cancer!
